The SMPEarth Olympics is a cancelled multi-sport server event that was planned to take place on Days 134 and 135 at the Olympic Stadium, north of Log Lagoon.
However, the long-expected event was later replaced by the SMPEarth Hunger Games which would be held on Day 135, as announced on the first day of the Olympics.
History[]
Day 59[]
Members of the Log Lagoon (Grunk, TanningOil, SoftWilly and Isaacwhy), the Bean Empire (Krinios and Sylvee) and the Corvarian Empire (KaraCorvus) collaborated to construct the Sumo Arena in Log Lagoon.
Later that day, SoftWilly organized two minigames in the RV Swamp. The first game is a scavenger hunt where Kara and Michaelmcchill participated in a mission to find a book in a hidden trapped chest within the area. Later, the second one is a tournament of sumo matches, where SoftWilly would oversee the match as a referee and Michael set out the handicap rules of each round such as warranting everyone to turn down their field of vision down to 30, using inverted mouse control, and cranking up mouse sensitivity to hyperspeed, respectively.
After the tournaments and seeing the positive responses from both players and audience, the group then discussed the possibility of organizing such mini-games but in a server-wide scale, similar to the Olympics. They also mentioned that the event could be held in Japan, paying homage to the upcoming real-life Summer Olympics in Japan.
Day 60[]
Members of Log Lagoon, led by Grunk, began construction of an Olympic park located north of their lands. They were assisted by InkTea and RobTob from The Palms to construct a globe, a statue, two fountains, two bridges and an airstrip complex with a control tower. They also hung a Polar Bear, named Kalamari, at the bottom of the globe like a tether-ball.
Sylvee later arrived and delivered some materials. However, she fired several shots onto the cord holding Kalamari and accidentally killing it. Although she claimed it was a total accident, SoftWilly attacked her, avenging the death of the polar bear. Ink then quickly located another bear in its place, yet Tanner killed it nonetheless.
Later that day, Grunk, Isaac, SoftWilly, Tanner, Sylvee and InkTea inaugurated the construction of the Olympic Stadium. They were assisted by Chip, and later joined by KaraCorvus and CaptainSparklez to help build the megastructure. SoftWilly came up with the overall design of the stadium which features the use magma blocks and smooth stone slabs and blocks as the primary materials for the stadium wall.
Day 61[]
Continuing their progress on the stadium from the previous day, SoftWilly and TanningOil mined quartz from Krakahumungus, a volcano owned by Kwite in Southeast Asia. Later, SoftWilly constructed the official Olympic rings near the stadium.
Meanwhile, in an attempt to gather materials for the stadium, Kara died in a cave somewhere in Siberia. Despite her attempts to get there in time all the way from Corvarian France and ventured through the hostile environment of the wilderness, she missed by a single second as she witnessed her entire inventory disappeared from existence.
Day 62[]
Construction of the main stadium continued. This time, more people started to participate in the project such as VoiceOverPete, Thunder1408, Jamakattack and Ben3759. Pete, TanningOil, and Isaac placed dirt blocks in order to create the turf for the sports fields. They continued working in to the evening, constructing the oval track out of red terracotta mined from New Hawaii (Australia). Meanwhile, TimeDeo donated two shulker boxes full of stacks of iron blocks for the construction of the stadium.
Day 63[]

The construction of the stadium's track and turf was finalized. After completion, Chip showcased several tricks and effects that they could apply during the upcoming event such as flooding the central area with water for swimming events or lighting it in flames etc. Meanwhile, Pete sneakily claimed several chunks of the stadium as a joke for the Antarctic Empire. He also began to construct a blimp, dubbed the VoiceOverBlimp, which flies above the Olympic Stadium.
Later that day, the stadium complex has been claimed as a territory of the Wilderness.
Day 64[]
InkTea worked on an event called 'Ender Pearl Golf' where players have to throw ender pearl into one of the holes much like a golfball itself. Meanwhile, the stadium added advertisement boards and a battle bus, showcasing random memes, images as well as fanarts. Players who wish to add their own image have to pay Log Lagoon 10 diamonds.
The SMPEarth twitter account tweeted an invitation to all artists or shitposters to submit their masterpiece that would be chosen and placed at the stadium.
Day 112[]
JoshA20 made an announcement in the SMPEarth Discord confirming that the games will be occurring. An official date has yet to be revealed.
Day 116[]
JoshA20 posted another announcement and video to the SMPEarth Discord and SMPEarth Twitter Account revealing the official dates of the upcoming event, April 3rd and 4th, 2019 (Days 134 and 135, respectively).
Day 119[]
The SMPEarth Twitter released a statement confirming LegoMaestro, who first joined the server on Day 116, as the official host of the event. The role was later corrected to newscaster.
Day 133[]
In the SMPEarth Discord, Josh teased an image of the SMPEarth logo paired with an image of The Trevor Project, an American non-profit organization dedicated on saving young LGBTQ lives. A video is expected to be released "tomorrow morning", possibly related to the event.
Day 134[]
Today was the highly-anticipated first day of the server-wide, multi-sport event as announced on Day 116. However, a statement was released on the official SMPEarth Twitter account informing that the event would be postponed to the next day to make way for more preparations to be made.
Several hours later, Michaelmcchill announced that a Charity Hunger Games event will take place at 2PM EST / 6PM GMT on Day 135, in lieu of the Olympics. Much like the Olympics, the event aims to raise fund for The Trevor Project. This change of plan was made after a 6-hour discussion with the server's administration, as stated by the official SMPEarth Twitter.

- VoiceOverPete is reported to be the commentator for the opening ceremony as well as the sports events of the Olympics from a blimp hovering over the stadium, dubbed the "VoiceOverBlimp".
- It is unsure whether Pete would still fulfil his designated duty since Lego Maestro was officially announced as the event's newscaster on Day 119.
- Chip created a "battle bus" next to the VoiceOverBlimp, paying homage to Fortnite.
- On Day 107, InkTea, Grunk and TanningOil had already predicted that the Olympics are unlikely to happen due to mass inactivity as well as the server's inevitable entropy.
